Economics is a social science that encompasses not only all processes from production to consumption, but also examines issues such as trade, distribution, import, and export. The history of economics began with the start of human-induced economic activities. The Economics Department enables governments, companies, institutions, or organizations to monitor, observe, and control their economic transactions, and to achieve effective results in sales/marketing by drawing meaningful conclusions from these transactions. The Economics Department aims to teach university students fundamental economics and analysis techniques. It also aims to teach basic economic and analytical methods and to improve students’ research, analysis, and evaluation of results. The Economics Department also offers thesis-based and non-thesis master’s programs.
Vision:
The main goal of the Economics Department is to provide its graduates with a solid foundation in economic theory and policy, and to teach them how to use mathematical and statistical techniques to solve theoretical and empirical problems. Graduates of the department have wide employment opportunities in public sector institutions, banking and finance institutions, and businesses.
Mission:
The Economics Bachelor’s Program aims to educate individuals who possess the ability to use economic theories and concepts competently and originally while analyzing the economic phenomena and problems around them. Through active learning processes, our students develop an internal perspective that enables them to analyze phenomena that are directly or indirectly within the field of economics. Designed with this approach, the Economics Bachelor’s Program prepares students to be active decision-makers in an increasingly competitive global economy, regardless of their post-university career path.
