About the Program

What is Healthcare Management?
The Health Care Organizations Management Master’s Program was founded to parallel the development and evolution of healthcare organizations management worldwide. It aims to improve the knowledge of health services and institutions administration by offering education, training, and research at the postgraduate level. As the first and leading department in this field in North Cyprus, the program educates students to contribute to solving healthcare sector problems with a decision-making focus in areas such as management, marketing, finance, and human resources, along with practice-focused skills like coordination, teamwork, and following best practices.

Key Disciplines in Healthcare Management
The program is deeply interdisciplinary, integrating core management disciplines—marketing, finance, human resources, and strategic management—with the specific context of healthcare organizations, including quality management and accreditation.

Healthcare Management Master’s Program
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) program is offered in both Turkish and English with thesis and non-thesis options. The thesis track consists of 7 courses, a seminar, and a thesis; the non-thesis track comprises 10 courses and a graduation project. Both aim to advance management levels or build an academic career.

Education Opportunities

The curriculum integrates decision-making-focused and practice-focused training. Students study the core functions of management as applied to health institutions, preparing them for leadership and managerial roles.

Healthcare Management Curriculum

• Compulsory Courses: Health Care Organizations Management, Marketing in Health Care Organizations, and other core subjects.
• Specialized Courses: Human Resources Management, Financial Management, Quality Management and Accreditation, Strategic Management, Quantitative Decision-Making Techniques, Research Methods, and Business Economics in the context of healthcare.
• Capstone Project: The program culminates in a master’s thesis or a graduation project.

Career Areas

Graduates can be assigned to various positions in the healthcare sector. This includes organizations aiming to treat and protect health, relevant units of the Ministry of Health, healthcare units of public and private sector organizations, and institutions producing or supplying medication and medical devices. Potential roles include managers, marketing directors, financial specialists, human resources directors, public relations directors, or administrative officers in hospitals. They are also effective in quality management and accreditation of healthcare organizations. Graduates have the opportunity to continue their doctoral studies for an academic career.
